A windstorm in Nowshera Virkan and nearby villages killed an eight-year-old boy and injured five others, Rescue 1122 officials said. The storm also uprooted trees, tore off solar panels and disrupted electricity supply across the area.

NOWSHERA VIRKAN: A strong windstorm swept through Nowshera Virkan and nearby localities, leaving an eight-year-old boy dead and five other people injured, according to Rescue 1122 officials.
Rescue officials said the child was killed in Karlke village when the roof of a house gave way during the storm. Two other people were also injured in the same incident.
They said the collapse took place after a weakened wall of a neighbouring elevated house fell onto the affected home, causing its already deteriorated roof to cave in. At the time, the two children of Muhammad Fayyaz were inside the room, while other members of the family had gone outside to check on their livestock.
According to rescue sources, Ahmad, 8, died at the scene after sustaining severe head injuries. Rescue 1122 said Fayyaz, 45, was also hurt when he entered the collapsed structure in an effort to save his children. Falak Sher, 15, was among those injured in the incident. Rescue personnel provided first aid to the injured before shifting Fayyaz and Falak Sher to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Nowshera Virkan.
In a separate incident in Khan Musalman village, a man identified as Tasawur was injured after falling from a roof while trying to secure solar panels during the storm, officials said.
Rescue 1122 further said that in Dera Gujran, two teenage siblings were injured when another roof collapsed amid the severe weather.
The storm also caused wider disruption in the area. Officials said several large trees were uprooted, while solar panels were torn from rooftops in different places.
Electricity supply from all feeders in Nowshera Virkan was suspended during the severe weather, according to the officials.

The fatal incident in Karlke village was among the most serious consequences of the storm, which also damaged rooftops and dislodged solar panels across the area. The weather system disrupted power supply throughout Nowshera Virkan, with all feeders reported shut down during the storm.
