New prices for roti, naan, paratha and tea notified

ISLAMABAD: Authorities have issued a revised price list for roti, naan, paratha and tea in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and the wider Rawalpindi Division, and tandoors have begun selling these items at the newly notified rates.

According to the official notification, the price of a red flour roti has been set at Rs17. A white flour fermented roti will now be sold for Rs30.

The notification also fixes the price of sesame naan at Rs35. Paratha and roghani naan have both been set at Rs60 each, while potato paratha will cost Rs80.

Tea prices have also been revised under the new list. A full cup of tea has been increased to Rs100, while a half cup has been fixed at Rs70.

Revised rates take effect

The new rates apply across the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad as well as the Rawalpindi Division, according to the notification. Following the issuance of the updated price list, tandoors have started charging the revised prices for bread items.

The move covers commonly purchased food items sold at tandoors, including different varieties of roti and naan, along with paratha and tea. The officially notified rates now provide the latest benchmark for these products in the affected areas.

Under the revised structure, red flour roti is the lowest-priced item among the bread products listed in the notification at Rs17, while potato paratha is the highest-priced bread item at Rs80. Among beverages, the full cup of tea has been fixed at Rs100 and the half cup at Rs70.

The notification sets separate prices for different types of bread, distinguishing between red flour roti, white flour fermented roti, sesame naan, paratha, roghani naan and potato paratha. Tandoors in the notified areas have already begun implementing the updated rates.

The latest official price list applies to consumers in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and other parts of the Rawalpindi Division where the revised rates have now come into force.
