Sindh issues Aurat March NOC for Sea View event with 28 conditions
The Sindh government has allowed Aurat March Karachi to hold its Sea View event on Sunday from 3:30pm to 7:30pm. The NOC, issued by the South deputy commissioner, carries 28 conditions, including restrictions on slogans and clothing.

KARACHI: The Sindh government has granted a no-objection certificate to Aurat March Karachi for its gathering at Sea View on Sunday, but the permission comes with 28 conditions, including curbs related to the content of slogans and participants’ clothing, according to a document that surfaced on Saturday.
The march is scheduled to take place at Sea View on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026, which falls on the second Sunday of May. The permission was issued by South Deputy Commissioner Javed Nabi Khoso through an NOC dated May 8, allowing Aurat March Karachi to organise
Aurat March in commemoration of Mother’s Dayfrom 3:30pm to 7:30pm on Sunday.
The NOC referred to a no-objection letter issued by the South senior superintendent of police. The development came days after Aurat March organisers in Karachi said they had written to First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, whose party is in power in Sindh, after receiving, in their words,
no responseto their request for an NOC from the relevant offices.
Earlier in the week, a press conference planned by Aurat March was also disrupted after several organisers were detained. The issuance of the NOC followed that episode and the organisers’ public demand for official permission to hold their annual event.
Permission issued for limited hours
Under the official approval, the event has been permitted for a four-hour window, from 3:30pm until 7:30pm. The gathering is to be held at Sea View in Karachi.
The document, as reported, sets out 28 conditions for the event. Among them are restrictions concerning the slogans that may be raised during the march. It also includes conditions relating to the clothing of participants.
These conditions became known a day before the event. The permission was issued after a period of uncertainty over whether the march would be allowed to proceed.
Organisers had sought intervention
Last Sunday, Aurat March organisers in Karachi said they had approached First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari after they did not receive a response from the offices to which they had applied for permission. Their appeal came amid concern over delays in the issuance of the NOC.
The matter drew further attention after a planned Wednesday press conference was hindered by the detention of multiple organisers. The subsequent issuance of the NOC by the South deputy commissioner cleared the way for the event to go ahead on Sunday, subject to the listed conditions.
The march has been planned as a Mother’s Day gathering, with the official permission specifically describing it as an event in commemoration of the occasion.
No further details from the NOC were available in the source material beyond the fact that it carried 28 conditions and included restrictions on slogans and clothing.
