Punjab extends modern police training to officers from provinces to strengthen inter-provincial coordination
Punjab Police is modernising under the Safe Punjab Vision, extending specialised training to 35 newly recruited DSPs from Balochistan to boost inter-provincial coordination and crime control.

LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Kareem on Tuesday said the Punjab police force was being modernised on advanced lines under the Safe Punjab Vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, adding that modern training was also being extended to police officers from Balochistan, Sindh and other provinces to strengthen inter-provincial coordination and professional capacity-building.
The IG Police was speaking to officers undergoing the third Specialized Training Course of the Balochistan Police during their visit to the Central Police Office (CPO). The trainee delegation comprised 35 newly recruited deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) from Balochistan Police.
The trainee officers appreciated the Punjab Police’s performance in key areas, including crime control, infrastructure development, smart policing and public service delivery.
On the occasion, Abdul Kareem asked the visiting officers about their training experience and field observations, stressing that along with field responsibilities, expertise in office management and administrative affairs was equally important for police officers.
He said officers from Balochistan would be able to perform more effectively in their professional careers after receiving specialised training from Punjab Police.

The Punjab IG directed the trainee DSPs to complete their training with dedication and commitment and to ensure improvement in crime control and public service delivery through the effective use of modern technology.
He also responded to the officers’ queries and provided detailed professional guidance.
The trainee officers briefed the IG Punjab on the experiences and observations they had gained during field training.
At the conclusion of the meeting, souvenirs were exchanged between the IG Punjab and the visiting delegation.
Later, the trainee officers visited the Police Museum, Martyrs’ Wall and various operational branches at the Central Police Office, where they were briefed on the working of different departments, including law and order, crime control, operations, investigation, traffic management and public service delivery.
Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad and Additional IG Training Asim Gulzar, along with other senior officers, were also present on the occasion.
Punjab Police intensify crackdown on organised gangs
In a related development, Punjab Police continued its vigorous operations against organised criminal gangs across the province, including Lahore.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, during the current year, as many as 5,367 members of 2,104 gangs were arrested in province-wide operations.
During these operations, stolen property worth Rs1.4 billion was recovered from the possession of the accused.
The spokesperson said the recoveries included 166 vehicles, 3,502 motorcycles, 3,234 mobile phones, 1,759 cattle and 857 tolas of gold.
A heavy cache of weapons was also seized from the accused, including 327 Kalashnikovs, 639 rifles, 11,472 pistols, 889 guns and 263 revolvers, along with 45,384 bullets.
Punjab IG Abdul Kareem, while directing police officers to further accelerate operations against criminal elements, said protection of the lives and property of citizens must be ensured at all costs.
