Army top brass links regional stability to restraint and respect for sovereignty

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military leadership said on Tuesday that peace and stability in the region are tied to collective restraint, responsibility and respect for sovereignty, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) after the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference.

The meeting was held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and was chaired by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, the military’s media wing said.

The forum reviewed the broader regional security situation and discussed the implications of recent geopolitical developments. The military leadership said these developments carry serious consequences for regional peace and security.

In its assessment of the situation, the top brass stressed the importance of restraint and the need to preserve regional stability amid tensions in the Middle East. “Deliberating on the broader regional security environment, the forum noted that emerging geopolitical developments carry significant implications for regional stability.”

The statement followed the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference, one of the military’s key high-level consultative forums, convened at GHQ in Rawalpindi. The conference was presided over by Field Marshal Asim Munir in his capacity as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces.
