LAHORE: Punjab Police’s annual inter-district sports competitions, being organised under the umbrella of the Pakistan Police Sports Board, continued across the province with high energy and strong participation, showcasing the force’s growing sporting culture and competitive spirit.

As part of the ongoing sporting calendar, intense tug of war and kabaddi contests were held in the Gujranwala Region, where teams from various districts demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, strength, and competitive zeal.

Sardar Ghias Gul, Capital City Police Officer (CPO) Gujranwala, attended the event as chief guest and lauded the players for their outstanding performances and commitment on the field.

A spokesperson for Punjab Police said the Gujranwala team emerged as the top performer, clinching first position in both the tug of war and kabaddi competitions, while the Gujrat District team secured second place in both categories.

In the women’s tug of war event, however, the Gujrat District team claimed first position, with the Gujranwala District team finishing as runners-up.

At the conclusion of the competitions, prizes were distributed among the winning teams and standout players in recognition of their remarkable performances.

Abdul Kareem, Inspector General of Police Punjab, congratulated the victorious teams and participating players, saying Punjab Police athletes were consistently delivering impressive performances in sporting activities.

He said sports play a vital role in fostering teamwork, discipline, and a healthy competitive spirit within the police force, helping strengthen professional cohesion and morale.
