LAHORE: A grand golf tournament for police officers was held at Lahore Gymkhana Club, Lahore, drawing enthusiastic participation from police golfers representing Lahore, Quetta, Karachi and Islamabad.
Patron of the Pakistan Police Golf Team, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan, organized the tournament, which featured competitions across professional and amateur categories, as well as among serving and retired police officers, all of whom demonstrated impressive performance.
At the conclusion of the tournament, commendation certificates, shields and prizes were awarded to players who delivered outstanding performances.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Suleman Sultan Rana said that organizing positive and healthy activities like golf plays a vital role in enhancing the sporting abilities of police officers. He noted that although golf is a challenging sport, police players displayed remarkable skill and competence.
He further highlighted that police golfers are consistently delivering strong performances in national and inter-provincial competitions, reaffirming that Punjab Police would continue to extend full patronage and encouragement to golf players, as it does for other sports disciplines.
The event was attended by retired Inspectors General of Police Chaudhry Yaqoob, Shoukat Javed, Tariq Khosa and Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, along with retired DIGs Pervez Rahim Rajput and Chaudhry Tasadduq.
Also present were CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Additional IG Wasim Sial and DIG Athar Ismail Amjad.
From Karachi Police, SSP Ghulam Murtaza participated, while Islamabad Police was represented by Abdul Haq Umrani. Participants from Quetta Police included Shahid Parvaiz, Shahzaib, Atta Muhammad, Muhammad Amir and Asif Khan.
Among women police golfers, Shehzadi Gulfam and Riffat Hanif also took part in the tournament. Other prominent participants included Muhammad Javeed, Manzoor Ahmad, Asghar Ali, Mubeen, Jamsheed, Shahbaz, Babar and Patras Masih, among others.
