GWADAR: Two cargo vessels have berthed at Gwadar Port, in a development officials say is adding to commercial activity at the facility.
One of the ships, MV HOM Leader, reached the port carrying 368.7 tons of machinery and general cargo. The second vessel, MV Dolphin 103, arrived with 5,000 metric tons of MOP fertiliser, according to officials.
Port workers are currently engaged in unloading operations, with arrangements in place to ensure the cargo is cleared on time.
Officials said the arrival of the two vessels is helping generate greater economic activity at Gwadar Port, where operational movement has been increasing.
Officials highlight port operations
Chairman of Gwadar Port Noor-ul-Haq Baloch said the increase in the port’s operational capacity was an encouraging sign.
Gwadar Port Authority spokesperson Jameel Qasim said MV HOM Leader brought transshipment cargo that included different types of machinery and general goods. He said the development showed Gwadar’s increasing role as a regional logistics and machinery handling hub.
He also said MV Dolphin 103 delivered 5,000 metric tons of MOP fertiliser at the port.
The latest arrivals mark another instance of cargo handling activity at Gwadar, with port staff continuing offloading work on both vessels.
Officials said full arrangements had been made for the unloading process so that clearance could be completed without delay.
The movement of machinery, general cargo and fertiliser through the port reflects the range of consignments currently being handled at Gwadar.
According to the information shared by port authorities, the two ships are contributing to the port’s ongoing commercial operations, with one vessel carrying transshipment cargo and the other bringing a bulk fertiliser consignment.
Officials linked the latest ship arrivals to broader economic activity associated with the port’s operations, while also pointing to what they described as a rise in Gwadar Port’s handling capacity.
The port authority’s spokesperson said the cargo brought by MV HOM Leader included machinery and general goods, while the fertiliser shipment was transported by MV Dolphin 103.
Offloading work remains under way as port workers continue handling the consignments after the vessels anchored at the port.
