Three police personnel killed, six injured in attacks in Khuzdar and Mastung

KHUZDAR/QUETTA: Three police personnel, including a female constable, were killed and six others were injured in separate armed attacks in Khuzdar and Mastung districts on Sunday, according to officials.

The first incident occurred during a police raid in Khuzdar that was being led by the additional station house officer of Baghbana police station to arrest suspects. Officials said unidentified armed men ambushed the police team, leading to an exchange of fire.

Two police constables were killed and two others were wounded in the attack. A senior police officer said, “A lady police constable and another constable were martyred in the firing.”

The two personnel who lost their lives were identified as Lady Constable Malik Naz and Constable Sami Ullah. The injured, including Additional SHO Ibrahim Sheikh, were shifted to Khuzdar hospital for treatment.

Mastung attack leaves ATF official dead

In a separate incident in the Dasht Kmeela area of Mastung district, an official of the Anti-Terrorism Force was killed and four others were injured during what officials described as a heavy exchange of fire with terrorists.

The deceased official was identified as Rehmat Khan. The four injured personnel were moved to a civil hospital, officials said.

Officials also said the attackers suffered casualties in the exchange, but added that further details were not immediately available.

Two assailants killed in earlier Mastung incident

Separately, an incident was reported from Mastung’s Sheikh Wasil area on Saturday night, where security personnel on routine patrol responded to an attack.

According to officials, the retaliatory action resulted in the deaths of two armed assailants. Their bodies were shifted to the civil hospital in Quetta.

The attacks add to a series of violent incidents targeting law enforcement personnel in Balochistan, with Khuzdar and Mastung among the districts where security forces have faced repeated armed confrontations.
