Government cuts diesel price by Rs32.12, PMO says

ISLAMABAD: The government on Friday lowered the price of diesel by Rs32.12, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The PMO said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had decided to extend relief to the public and approved the reduction in the diesel rate.

According to the statement, the price of diesel has been brought down from Rs385.54 to Rs353.43 following the approval.

The PMO statement also quoted the prime minister as saying that the impact of the reduction in petroleum prices would be passed on to the public at the earliest.

PMO announces revised diesel rate

The announcement was made through an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, which said the decision had been taken by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The statement specifically referred to diesel and set out both the previous and revised prices.

Under the new rate shared by the PMO, diesel now stands at Rs353.43, down from Rs385.54. The reduction amounts to Rs32.12, the statement added.
