Emily in Paris season 6 to film in Greece and Monaco

PARIS: Netflix series Emily in Paris is set to widen its European setting again in its sixth season, with production planned in Greece and Monaco in addition to France, according to details reported about the upcoming instalment.

Filming is scheduled to begin in May 2026 and continue until September 30, paving the way for what is seen as a likely late 2026 release. The new season will continue the story of Lily Collins’ character Emily Cooper, the American marketing executive whose life in Europe has increasingly unfolded across several countries and relationships.

The next chapter follows the events of season 5, which concluded with Emily receiving a postcard from Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, asking her to come to Greece. The message suggested the possibility of a renewed connection between the two after Gabriel moved to work as a chef on a yacht in the Aegean.

Series creator Darren Star has said Gabriel remains a key part of the story. He described him as Emily’s big love and said he can't imagine the series without Gabriel. At the same time, he has indicated that any reunion between the characters would not happen immediately, pointing to continuing emotional complications.

Season 5 ending sets up new locations

Season 5 left Emily facing major personal and professional decisions after ending her relationship with Marcello and deciding to stay in Paris despite upheaval in both areas of her life. The finale also showed changing dynamics among other characters, including developments in Mindy’s romantic life and further complications within Emily’s wider circle.

While the show has previously moved beyond Paris to locations such as Rome and Venice, season 6 appears set to take that expansion further. Greece and Monaco are expected to become major settings in the new season.

Possible filming sites in Greece are reported to include Mykonos, Santorini and Paros. Monaco, meanwhile, is being presented as a contrasting backdrop, with its casino scene and Formula 1 glamour expected to shape new work-related storylines and client-focused plots.

Strong Netflix performance continues

The series has continued to perform strongly for Netflix. Season 5 recorded 26.8 million views worldwide in 11 days and entered the platform’s top 10 rankings in 91 countries, underscoring its standing as one of Netflix’s most successful international drama titles.

Returning cast members are expected to include Lily Collins, Lucas Bravo and Ashley Park, among others, as preparations move ahead for production. With filming due to start in May 2026, the most likely release period for the new season remains late 2026.
