Punjab requires schools to install safety app

The Punjab School Education Department has ordered all public and private schools in the province to install a public safety mobile app, with immediate compliance now mandatory.

Under the directive, schools placed in the A, A-plus, and B categories must install the application, while principals and teachers have been told to complete registration within the given deadline.

The decision comes after reports that a number of institutions had still not installed the app, raising concerns within the department. District Education Officers have now been directed to enforce the order without delay and closely track compliance in their respective districts.

Authorities have warned that strict action may be taken against schools or staff members who fail to follow the instructions. School heads have also been asked to ensure all teaching staff are informed so the process can be completed on time.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Wing will supervise the installation and registration drive and prepare progress reports. Officials said delays will not be accepted, adding that the step is intended to improve security and strengthen monitoring in educational institutions.
