Islamabad to get two new residential sectors as approvals move ahead

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to add two new residential sectors in the capital, while development activity in Sectors F-12 and G-12 is moving forward.

The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority is preparing to announce the two sectors, either at the same time or in separate phases. The move is aimed at addressing rising housing demand in Islamabad.

Work on the planning side has advanced in Sector F-12, where the layout plan has already been completed. However, its PC-I has not yet received approval. Further development in that sector will continue after the formal approval process is completed.

For Sector G-12, the PC-I is also currently under consideration for approval. The formal launch of the sectors is expected once key issues, including rates and planning approvals, are settled.

It remains possible that Sector F-12 may be launched before G-12. Another option under consideration is for both sectors to be unveiled together once the required matters are finalised.

The planned introduction of the new sectors is expected to provide housing opportunities not only for federal government employees but also for the general public.

Development activity in other sectors

Alongside the proposed launch of F-12 and G-12, development work has already started in Sectors F-14 and F-15 in Islamabad.

The latest move signals continued activity in the capital’s housing sector as authorities work through planning and approval requirements for multiple areas. At present, the process for F-12 and G-12 is tied to the completion of official approvals and the finalisation of rates and related planning matters.

The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority is expected to make the announcement once these outstanding issues are resolved. Whether the sectors are introduced together or one after the other will depend on how the approval process proceeds.

With the layout plan for F-12 already completed and the PC-I process under way for both F-12 and G-12, the government’s plan for expanding residential options in the capital has moved into the next stage. In addition, work in F-14 and F-15 is already under way, indicating broader progress in residential development in Islamabad.
