Trump says ‘whole civilisation will die tonight’ as strikes on Iran ramp up

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued Iran an 8 p.m. Tuesday deadline to reach a deal, warning that failure to do so could trigger devastating consequences.

Trump threatened to target Iranian power plants and other infrastructure if Tehran does not comply. It also says he warned that an entire civilization could die if no agreement is reached by the deadline, a statement that sharply raised the stakes in an already volatile regional crisis.

Iran responded by saying it would retaliate through strikes on infrastructure in neighboring Gulf states. The report also says Tehran has refused to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes, adding to fears of broader economic disruption.

At the same time, Israel reportedly warned Iranians to avoid trains and railways, suggesting that transportation networks could also become potential targets as the confrontation deepens.

The developments appeared to rattle energy markets. A crude oil price chart visible in the screenshot showed prices under pressure amid mounting uncertainty over the conflict and the risk to Gulf supply routes.

With the deadline approaching, the situation appears highly fluid, with diplomacy, military threats and energy security all converging in a rapidly intensifying standoff.
