Doctor found dead in car at Children's Hospital had no visible injuries, police say

Lahore: Police have widened their investigation after a doctor's body was discovered inside a car parked at the Children's Hospital, with initial post-mortem findings showing no visible signs of violence or external injury.

According to police sources, the deceased was identified as Dr Ahmed Latif. The sources said he had reportedly been experiencing prolonged mental stress, a condition that was known to some of his colleagues.

Police sources further said that one fellow doctor had advised him to take rest and go on leave.

Investigators also found medicines inside the vehicle, according to police officials. The medicines have been sent to a forensic laboratory for detailed analysis.

Preliminary findings from the post-mortem examination showed no visible marks of violence or external injuries on the body, police said. Samples collected during the autopsy have also been dispatched for forensic examination.

Police officials said the exact cause of death would be determined after the forensic reports are received.

Police sources further disclosed that Dr Latif is survived by a daughter and had divorced his wife four years ago.

The investigation has now been expanded as authorities await the forensic findings linked to both the medicines recovered from the car and the samples taken during the post-mortem examination.
