LAKKI MARWAT: Police on Sunday registered a first information report against unidentified suspects over the rape and murder of a three-year-old girl in the Langerkhel Hathi Khan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district.
The FIR was lodged at Lakki city police station on the complaint of the child’s father. It includes Sections 302, 364-A and 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code, relating respectively to intentional murder, kidnapping or abducting a minor, and punishment for rape.
According to the FIR, the girl went missing on April 3, after which her family started looking for her. The report states that her body was later recovered from a reed forest about two kilometres from her village.
The complainant, Aliullah, 32, told police in his preliminary statement that while searching for his daughter, the family found her body in a nearby forest on Sunday. The FIR quotes him as saying that the girl’s half-naked body was found on Sunday.
He told police that the body was shifted to Government City Hospital, where a lady doctor confirmed that the child had been raped.
The FIR also states that Additional Station House Officer Fatehullah Khan reached the hospital after receiving information that the girl’s body had been brought there. It cites him as saying that a lady doctor confirmed after a medical examination that the child was raped before she was murdered.
Police have registered the case against unidentified suspects and initiated legal proceedings under the relevant provisions mentioned in the FIR.
The case relates to the Langerkhel Hathi Khan area in Lakki Marwat district, where the child had gone missing before her body was recovered from the forested area described in the police report.
The FIR records the sequence of events beginning with the child’s disappearance on April 3 and ending with the recovery of her body and the medical examination at Government City Hospital. The police report says the medical findings, as conveyed by the lady doctor and cited in the FIR, indicated rape before the murder.
