Javeria Saud faces backlash over wrong Yumna Zaidi photo on Eid show

Javeria Saud has come under criticism after a picture shown during Express Entertainment’s Eid special transmission was wrongly linked to Yumna Zaidi. The controversy began after remarks made during the show went viral on social media, where Saud was seen asking guests to identify Yumna Zaidi through an image she described as belonging to an actor who had worked for many years but found major stardom only recently.

The guests guessed that she was referring to Yumna Zaidi, but the actor later stated that the picture was not hers. The denial shifted attention to the image itself and raised questions about how it had been used on air.

The matter escalated after the father of the girl in the picture, Abdul Fahid Hamid, contacted a Pakistani drama page and shared his account of what happened. He said the image belonged to his daughter, Faryal Hamid, and had been taken from his wife’s public social media account without the family’s permission.

According to him, the photograph was used on television in a way that misidentified his daughter and connected her to a segment intended to mock or comment on another person. He said the incident involved misuse of identity, damaged reputation, and raised concerns about safeguarding and consent, adding that the family intended to pursue legal action.

The episode has triggered strong reaction online, with many users supporting the family’s decision to speak out. Social media posts responding to the controversy have also called for action against television hosts involved in the segment.
