RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has finalised arrangements to conduct the annual matriculation examinations starting March 27.
Divisional Commissioner Abdul Aamer Khattak, who also serves as the chairman of Rawalpindi BISE in an additional capacity, has directed that the Matriculation Examination (First Annual) 2026 be conducted in a transparent, organised, and merit-based manner under a zero-tolerance policy.
401 examination centres established
According to the Controller of Examinations at the Rawalpindi Education Board, Tanveer Asghar Awan, a total of 401 examination centres have been set up for the matriculation examination. These include 148 centres designated for girls, 138 for boys, and 113 common centres. Additionally, two examination centres have been established inside jails.
Zero-tolerance policy against cheating
In line with the commissioner's directives, instructions have been issued to all district officers across the Rawalpindi Division to ensure that the examination process remains entirely free from cheating and is conducted transparently. The orders emphasise that a fair environment must be provided to all students appearing in the examinations.
The zero-tolerance policy underscores the board's commitment to upholding the integrity of the examination process and ensuring that results reflect genuine academic performance. The directives aim to eliminate any malpractice during the conduct of the SSC annual examinations across all centres in the division.
The establishment of a large number of centres — spread across categories for boys, girls, and mixed settings — is intended to facilitate students across the Rawalpindi Division and ensure smooth conduct of the examinations beginning later this month.
