Robbers escape with Rs19m in cash and jewellery during Lahore home invasion at Sehri time

LAHORE: Armed intruders stole valuables estimated at around Rs19 million from a residence in the Defence-A area of Lahore early Sunday morning, according to police officials.

Police sources said four suspects arrived in a white vehicle and entered the house around sehri time. The men allegedly gathered the family in the TV lounge and kept them under threat while carrying out the robbery. They reportedly escaped with valuables that included nearly 200 tolas of gold, 20 tolas of diamonds, seven luxury watches, and foreign currency.

The incident took place shortly after the homeowner, Aamir, returned home following sehri with his family. Police added that security guards were stationed at the house but were asleep in their room after sehri when the robbery occurred.

Officials said investigators have begun examining the case from multiple angles. Footage from Safe City surveillance cameras is also being reviewed to help identify the suspects.

CCTV footage of the robbery has surfaced and is expected to assist authorities in tracing and arresting those involved. Further investigation is in progress.
