GWADAR: The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has managed to save Rs15 million in the current fiscal year by implementing a series of austerity measures, according to information shared during a recent meeting chaired by GDA Director General Moeen-ur-Rehman Khan.
During the session, it was revealed that the savings were achieved by reducing unnecessary expenditures and optimizing the use of resources across various departments of the authority. The meeting included a comprehensive review of GDA’s revenue over the past three years and focused on identifying new opportunities and practical strategies to further increase revenue and improve the utilization of financial resources.
Officials present at the meeting included Chief Engineer Haji Syed Muhammad, Town Planning Director Shahid Ali, Finance Director Zakir Majeed, Administration Director Changezai Khan, Building Controller Nazir Ahmed, Environment Director Rasool Bakhsh Baloch, Land Management Director Mansoor Ahmed, Finance Deputy Director Shakur Ahmed, and other senior officials.
The participants discussed the ongoing implementation of the austerity policy and considered various proposals aimed at boosting the authority’s financial position. The meeting emphasized the importance of continued vigilance in expenditure and resource management to ensure the sustainability of these savings in the future.
The GDA’s efforts are part of a broader initiative to strengthen financial discipline and maximize the impact of available resources for the development of Gwadar. The authority plans to continue exploring additional measures to enhance revenue streams and ensure efficient allocation of funds in the coming years.
