 LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday congratulated young athlete Haram Rehan from Gujranwala for breaking a six-year-old Indian record and earning a place in the Guinness World Records with an extraordinary feat.

Haram Rehan, a student of Government College for Women Satellite Town Gujranwala, set a new world record by performing 143 knee strikes in one minute, surpassing the previous record held by an Indian male athlete for the past six years.

CM Maryam Nawaz extended heartfelt congratulations to Haram Rehan on her remarkable achievement and also paid tribute to her coaching staff for their dedication and efforts in nurturing the young athlete.

The Punjab chief minister said that Haram Rehan has raised the Pakistani flag high by breaking the long-standing record. She added that the daughters of Punjab are not alone, assuring that she stands with every daughter and will continue to support them in pursuing their dreams.

The chief minister remarked that Haram Rehan has become a source of inspiration for young girls and has proved that if the daughters of Punjab demonstrate determination and resolve, they can surprise the world with their achievements.

She further stated that the Punjab government is utilising all available resources to help young people fulfil their dreams and is providing every possible facility so they can represent Pakistan proudly on the global stage.

CM lauds successful security operation

Separately, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed appreciation for the successful operation carried out by security forces against militants in Lakki Marwat and other areas.

She commended the security institutions for eliminating six terrorists during the operation against Khawarij elements and paid tribute to the bravery and professionalism of the security personnel involved.

CM Maryam Nawaz said the nation stands united with its security forces in the fight against terrorism and acknowledged their continued sacrifices for the peace and stability of the country.

CM takes notice of policeman injured by kite string

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took notice of an incident in which a police official was injured after being struck by a kite string in Lahore.

She directed the authorities concerned to ensure strict enforcement of the ban on kite flying and expressed regret over the violation of the ban, emphasising the need for firm action to prevent such dangerous practices.

The Punjab chief minister said that turning kite flying into a deadly activity is deeply unfortunate and stressed that all necessary measures must be taken to ensure public safety.
