JI Chief Urges Pakistan to Quit Trump’s ‘Board of Peace’
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, urges Pakistan to withdraw from Trump's 'Board of Peace,' criticizing US actions and warning of regional implications.

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has called on the government to withdraw from what he described as the “so-called Board of Peace (BoP),” sharply criticising US President Donald Trump and warning that history would judge him as a war criminal.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Hafiz Naeem accused the United States and Israel of launching a war against Iran and committing human rights violations. He claimed Iran was being targeted for backing Gaza in its conflict with Israel.
The JI leader alleged that 165 schoolgirls were killed at the outset of the hostilities and branded the actions of Washington and Tel Aviv as criminal.
He urged Muslim-majority nations to stand in solidarity with Iran, arguing that Israel’s broader objective extended beyond Tehran to include Pakistan and its nuclear capabilities.
“This is not only Iran’s war; it concerns Pakistan as well,” he asserted, adding that Israel must be countered in Iran to prevent any further regional expansion of influence.
Hafiz Naeem warned that if regime change were imposed in Iran and a compliant government installed, Israeli influence could reach Pakistan’s borders.
He appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to admit that joining the BoP had been a misstep and to lead efforts for Pakistan’s withdrawal alongside other Islamic nations.
Commenting on a protest outside the US Consulate in Karachi, he criticised the authorities’ response, questioning the use of force against demonstrators. He said law enforcement had alternative crowd-control options and insisted that no authority had the right to open direct fire.
He demanded accountability from both the Sindh and federal governments and sought clarification over reports suggesting that US Marines were involved in the firing.
Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that the agenda behind the Iran conflict aimed to extend Israeli influence to Pakistan’s borders. Writing on X, he cautioned that the strategic ambitions of Western allies could pose serious risks to Pakistan’s security.
