Two Accused Indicted in Karachi Chinese Convoy Attack Case
An anti-terrorism court in Karachi has indicted two suspects, including the alleged mastermind, in the October 2024 suicide attack on a Chinese convoy near Karachi Airport. The accused denied the charges and will contest them in court.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi has formally indicted two individuals, including the alleged mastermind, in connection with the suicide bombing that targeted a Chinese convoy near Karachi Airport in October 2024. The attack resulted in the deaths of two Chinese nationals and one Pakistani citizen, while 11 others sustained injuries.
The accused, identified as Javaid and his female aide Gul Nisa, were presented before the ATC where the judge read out the charges against them. Both individuals, reportedly associated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), denied the charges and chose to contest the accusations in court.
Following their plea, the court issued notices to prosecution witnesses, instructing them to appear on March 17 to provide their testimonies. The prosecution maintains that the suicide attack was orchestrated by Muhammad Javed, also known as Sameer, who is alleged to be the mastermind behind the incident. The prosecution further stated that the attack specifically targeted a convoy carrying Chinese nationals near the Karachi Airport.
During the hearing, the court was informed that the investigation had linked the accused to the planning and execution of the attack. However, both Javaid and Gul Nisa have denied involvement and are set to contest the allegations during the trial process.
The court proceedings are expected to continue with witness testimonies scheduled for the upcoming hearing. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to pursuing the case in accordance with legal procedures.
