KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has submitted the final challan in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) regarding the Karachi airport suicide attack case.
The attack, which occurred on October 6 last year, resulted in the deaths of two Chinese nationals and injuries to several others, including a local citizen, according to the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.
The challan reveals that the masterminds behind the attack, Commander Bashir Baloch alias Bashir Zaib and Abdul Rehman alias Rehman Gul, have been declared absconders. The attack also led to the injury of six individuals, including a woman.
Two individuals, Javed and Gul Nisa, are currently in custody. Shah Fahad, who carried out the suicide bombing, was allegedly radicalized by Bashir Zaib and Rehman Gul.
Javed is reported to have conducted surveillance of the airport before the attack, while Gul Nisa is said to have assisted in transporting an explosives-laden vehicle from Balochistan to Karachi.
Javed and his associate, Siraj alias Danish, were present at the scene during the attack but managed to flee afterward. Despite efforts, the CTD has been unable to apprehend the absconding suspects. The court has directed proceedings to begin for declaring them proclaimed offenders and has also summoned details of their assets.
