A video circulating on social media appears to show a United States Air Force fighter jet crashing in western Kuwait on Monday, while the pilot is seen ejecting moments before impact and surviving with minor injuries, according to initial reports.
The aircraft has been identified as an F-15E Strike Eagle, a twin-engine strike fighter operated by the United States Air Force. The incident reportedly occurred amid heightened regional tensions involving Iran and allied forces during ongoing military operations in the Middle East.
Clips shared online show the jet descending rapidly before crashing, followed by thick smoke rising from the site. Other footage appears to show residents assisting the ejected pilot and attempting to arrange medical help.
Kuwait’s defence ministry said in a statement that “several United States military aircraft crashed” on Monday, adding that “all crews survived.” The ministry’s official spokesperson, Col. Said Al-Atwan, said search and rescue operations were launched immediately and the crews were evacuated to hospital.
“The personnel are in stable condition and received necessary medical care,” the statement said. It added that Kuwaiti authorities coordinated directly with US forces and that joint technical procedures were put in place following the incident.
Early reports have suggested the possibility of a friendly-fire incident, though officials have not confirmed the cause. The United States Central Command has not issued a formal statement on the crash, and an investigation is understood to be under way.
US broadcaster CNN reported that it geolocated footage appearing to show a fighter jet crashing in Kuwait and a pilot ejecting before parachuting to the ground. The outlet said the video indicated the jet came down within 10 kilometres of the Ali Al Salem Air Base.
CNN added that, following a review of the footage, the twin-engine jet seen in the video matched the profile of an F-15E.
The footage sparked intense debate online, with users speculating about the cause of the crash and its broader geopolitical implications.
“Seems like China's here,” umair_0754 commented.

“Koi wajah to hogi aise kese advance jet gurskta hay wo bhi for the 1st time ever in this model or in halaat main,” mamoongbr commented.
“Crashed or shot down?” another user asked.
At the time of writing, there has been no confirmation from US Central Command regarding the authenticity of the footage or the exact circumstances surrounding the reported crash.
