The Islamabad district administration has stepped up its efforts against illegal Afghan nationals, following directives to enhance security measures in the region. Security protocols have also been strengthened in Rawalpindi and Azad Kashmir in response to the prevailing security situation.
Officials have called on residents of Islamabad to promptly report any illegal Afghan refugees to their nearest police station or district authorities. The administration has issued a warning that individuals found hosting or sheltering illegal refugees will also face legal action.
Magistrates have been instructed to verify the documents of individuals deemed suspicious, while assistant commissioners have been tasked with ensuring strict enforcement of document checks at pickets and checkpoints throughout the city. The authorities have made it clear that Afghan nationals lacking valid visas will be subject to arrest.
Furthermore, officials stated that Afghan nationals will not be permitted to conduct business activities in Islamabad without possessing a valid visa. Specific instructions regarding this policy have been communicated to trade unions and traders operating in vegetable and fruit markets. The administration has emphasized that strict legal measures will be taken against those found facilitating or conducting business with individuals without the necessary documentation.
These actions are part of a broader initiative to address concerns about illegal residency and to bolster public safety in the capital and surrounding areas. The administration has reiterated its commitment to enforcing these regulations and maintaining heightened vigilance across all relevant sectors.
