ISLAMABAD: A Chinese-Pakistani charitable initiative is delivering daily iftar meals to hundreds of families across Pakistan during Ramadan 2026, organisers said on Thursday.
The month-long program, titled “Caring Kitchen,” is run by the China-Pakistan Youth Exchange Community (CPYEC) in partnership with the Beijing One Heart Sphere Charity Foundation and the Chinese volunteer group Boundless Love. Communities in Islamabad, Gujranwala, Gilgit, and Azad Kashmir are currently receiving 200 to 300 cooked meals every evening.
Ma Bin, head of CPYEC, said this year’s drive continues a tradition that began eight years ago. “What began as small-scale food distributions has grown into a sustained movement of friendship and mutual care between our two peoples,” he said.
In Islamabad, volunteers have also distributed essential food packages to the Star School, including rice, flour, cooking oil, and pulses, to support students’ nutrition throughout the holy month.
Over the past 13 years, CPYEC has expanded its charitable work across Pakistan, implementing relief and development projects in cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Dadu, Gujranwala, Gilgit, and Quetta. Previous efforts have included sheltering orphans, performing cataract surgeries for elderly patients, distributing footwear to children, and delivering aid to flood-affected communities.
Organisers said the initiative will continue throughout Ramadan, ensuring that no deserving family in the target areas goes hungry. A temporary kitchen is also planned in Quetta for a ten-day period in the coming days to extend support further.
