Customs seize 30kg silver at Torkham border crossing
Customs officials seized 30 kilograms of silver concealed in a truck at the Torkham border crossing. The operation highlights ongoing vigilance against smuggling.

TORKHAM: Customs officials at the Torkham border crossing seized 30 kilograms of silver from a truck during an operation at the Torkham Import Terminal.
Collector Ghulam Mustafa said the vehicle had entered Pakistan from Afghanistan and was subjected to a routine search at the terminal. During the inspection, officials discovered the silver concealed inside the truck’s tyres.
According to customs authorities, the truck had transported an Afghan family into Afghanistan and was returning to Pakistan when it was stopped and examined.
The silver and the vehicle were taken into custody. The recovered metal is estimated to be worth approximately Rs480 million, Collector Mustafa said.
Superintendent Customs Zia Afridi, posted at the Torkham border, also took part in the operation conducted by Pakistan Customs.
