ISLAMABAD: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi stated on Friday that the opposition would initiate a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur once it secures a majority in the provincial assembly. "The day we gain even one extra member, we can move a vote of no-confidence," Kundi said.

His comments came after a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) delegation met Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad to discuss a strategy for the upcoming Senate elections in K-P.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed possible cooperation in the Senate polls, stressing the importance of opposition coordination to challenge the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the province.

Senior PPP leader Khursheed Shah stated that the elections were imminent, and both parties would honor their previous agreements. "Every party has its mandate, and we’ve had a longstanding relationship with Maulana Fazlur Rehman," he said.

Governor Kundi spoke about PPP’s strategy for the upper house elections, revealing the party’s goal to secure five Senate seats in the province. "Maulana Fazl's group aims to win one general seat, and the PPP will contest a reserved seat," he explained.

When asked about potential political maneuvering during the elections, Kundi expressed confidence that the PPP would avoid horse-trading, aiming for a united contest by the former Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance. "We are trying to move forward together," he said.

The K-P governor also criticized the PTI’s performance in the province, challenging the party to name any public facility or stadium they have built. He also commented on the worsening law and order situation, highlighting the increasing militant activity in the region, especially after Asr prayers.

Kundi condemned the recent terrorist attack in Balochistan, where nine passengers were killed after being identified and separated based on their identity cards. "The entire nation must unite to restore peace," he said.

Furthermore, Kundi accused India of fueling terrorist activities in Pakistan, noting that much of the terrorism in the country originated from Afghan soil. "Eighty percent of the terrorism in Pakistan is
