Fire at Saddar mobile market traps people inside building

KARACHI: A fire broke out on Monday at a building in Karachi’s busy mobile market, leaving several people reportedly trapped inside, according to a traders’ association.

Rescue officials said the blaze erupted on the seventh floor of the Al-Najeebi Electronic Market in the Saddar area. The fire quickly spread, engulfing several vehicles that were parked inside the building.

Officials confirmed that at least three fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the scene and were engaged in efforts to bring the flames under control. Rescue teams were also working to reach those believed to be stuck inside the building.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire or reported any casualties. The situation remains ongoing, and further details are expected as rescue and firefighting operations continue.
