The latest episode of ‘Kafeel,’ ARY Digital’s prime-time drama, has left viewers divided after a sudden time jump in Episode 11. The episode, which aired recently, moved the storyline ahead by around twenty years, shifting focus from the central characters, Zeba and Jami, to their grown children and newly introduced characters.
The abrupt narrative shift has drawn criticism from fans, many of whom expressed disappointment on social media. Some viewers felt that the once-serious family drama had transformed into a parody, pointing to the jarring changes in direction and tone. One viewer noted, “Is the camera supposed to be shaking that way? Seems like a whole other drama. What a switch – and not a good one!”
Others echoed similar sentiments, calling the time jump a downgrade for the show. “What did I watch today? Kafeel-kids version? Such a good drama has been converted into a teen comedy. It’s like they have changed the whole production team, director, writer, etc. Very shocking downgrade,” another fan said.
Some criticism was directed at the portrayal of characters, especially the shift in focus to a non-earning husband turned non-earning father, which many fans found unconvincing. The introduction of a new cast also left viewers uninspired, with one viewer commenting, “What is happening in today’s boring episode, so many kids are in the drama now. A mature drama has turned into a teenage show. The feel is just not there anymore.”
