Agencies claim discovery of gold, foreign currency in TLP office raid

LAHORE: Law enforcement agencies claimed on Wednesday to have seized a large quantity of gold, foreign currency, and other valuables during a raid on the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) office.

According to officials, the joint operation was conducted by the police, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). The recovered assets reportedly include around two kilograms of gold and local and foreign currency worth Rs11.42 crore, along with 50,000 Indian rupees.

Authorities said the confiscated foreign currencies include US dollars, euros, pounds, Saudi riyals, and Indian rupees.

Officials further revealed that the raid led to the recovery of 1.9 kilograms of gold and 898 grams of silver, as well as a collection of luxury items. Among them were 69 branded wristwatches, 28 gold bangles and kadas weighing 445 grams, 12 bracelets (490 grams), 24 gold necklaces, chains and lockets, and 46 rings weighing 355 grams.

Additionally, police said 460 grams of silver were seized, including a silver crown and 32 silver rings.

Authorities confirmed that a complete inventory of the seized valuables has been compiled and released jointly by the police, FIA, and NCCIA following the raid.
