Several schools across the UAE have already informed students and families about the dates for the upcoming winter vacation, allowing ample time for holiday planning without disrupting studies.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) and other educational regulators across the Emirates approved the school calendar for the 2025–2026 academic year prior to the start of the term. Asian curriculum schools began their academic year in April, while international curriculum schools started in September.
The first term will conclude with an extended four-week winter break, an increase from the previous three-week duration. The winter break will run from December 8, 2025, to January 4, 2026, with classes resuming on January 5. This extended break is designed to give students a chance to recharge after a busy term and take part in national and community events.
Schools have reminded families that while vacations are important, time off should be restricted to the official break unless there is an emergency.
