LAHORE: A man, Ali Zain, has been sentenced to 100 years in prison for murdering four of his family members while allegedly influenced by an online video game. The murders occurred in 2022, where Zain killed his mother, two sisters, and a brother.
The Lahore sessions court, presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Riaz Ahmad, ruled that the severity of the crime warranted four consecutive life sentences. In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a fine of Rs 4 million on the convict.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. when Zain opened fire on his family members. The Kahna police registered an FIR shortly after the crime in 2022, and during the trial, prosecutors presented witnesses and evidence indicating that the tragic act was committed under the influence of a video game.
