Famous Indian singer dies in tragic accident

Zubeen Garg, the renowned Assamese singer famous for Bollywood hits like “Ya Ali” and “Dil Tu Hi Bataa,” has passed away at the age of 52 following a scuba diving accident in Singapore.

The tragic incident occurred during an impromptu diving trip arranged by members of the local Assamese community, with whom Garg was traveling. The manager of his event in Singapore, Shyamkanu Mahanta, revealed that neither he nor the team were aware of the outing, and they only learned about the accident after it had occurred.

In a statement, Mahanta shared, “With profound grief, we share the heartbreaking news that our beloved icon, Zubeen Garg, passed away today at Singapore General Hospital around 2:30 PM. He had arrived in Singapore just two days ago and was scheduled to participate in a festival the next day.”

The manager further explained that during a meeting with local industrialists and policymakers, they were informed of the accident. The team quickly rushed to the hospital, but despite their efforts, Garg could not be saved.

The statement concluded with the news that the event would be canceled, and the team expressed their deep grief over the loss, adding, “This is a monumental loss, and words cannot express the depth of our grief. We are devastated and pray for the departed soul of Zubeen Garg.”
