- CM Maryam Nawaz says uncontrolled population growth rate has become root cause of many economic and social problems
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday stated that the burden of population can become a huge threat to a country’s resources, emphasizing that Pakistan can accelerate the pace of development by combating climate change and increasing population.
In her message on World Population Day, observed on Friday (July 11), she added, “Rapid increase in population growth rate has become the root cause of many economic and social problems.” The Punjab CM highlighted that the main reasons for poverty, child labor, poor healthcare, insufficient educational resources, and food scarcity are the uncontrolled increase of population.
The Punjab Chief Minister said, “It is feared that the available resources will be enough to meet the country’s needs just for a few decades.” She underscored that before ensuring the provision of health and education facilities in different areas, the ratio of population to available resources should be kept in mind.”
CM Strongly Condemns Attack by Fitna al-Hindustan Terrorists
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the martyrdom of innocent passengers while strongly condemning an attack by Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists on a bus coming from Quetta to Punjab. She offered condolences and extended her heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families.
CM Grieves at Demise of 1122 Rescue Worker on Duty
In related development, the Punjab chief minister expressed a deep sense of grief and sorrow over the death of a rescue worker on duty. She offered condolences and expressed her heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family.
The Punjab chief minister directed the authorities concerned to provide the best medical treatment to the rescuer injured in a roof collapse during an incident of fire extinguishing in Khokhar Town and prayed for his complete and speedy recovery soon.
Meanwhile, on the notice of the chairman of the chief minister’s complaints cell, Shoaib Mirza, the accused who kidnapped and killed a student in Faisalabad were arrested. Bilal Nawaz and Umar Aslam had kidnapped Ahad and demanded ransom money for his release. On the resistance put up by the deceased Ahad, both the accused killed him.
Despite the murder, the accused demanded ransom money from the heirs by changing their location. Accused Umar kept the dead body of the deceased Ahad in his rented house and later threw it on the roadside.
The chairman of the complaints cell directed the Faisalabad Police to arrest the accused. The special police team of the Mansoorabad police station arrested the accused by utilizing modern technology. The accused Bilal and Umar allegedly confessed to their crime.
