Trump escalates rhetoric against Iran, vows not to kill Khamenei “for now”

US President Donald Trump has intensified his verbal assault on Iran, stating on social media that the United States knows the exact location of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but will not take action against him “for now.” Trump’s provocative remarks came amid rising tensions in the Middle East, where Israel and Iran continue their deadly conflict.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump warned, “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there — We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.” He added, “But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

This statement, following a tweet demanding Iran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER,” has further stoked fears of direct US involvement in the escalating violence. While Trump maintains that the US will not intervene directly, he has hinted at increased American military presence in the region, declaring that the US now has “complete and total control of the skies over Iran.”

As the conflict intensifies, French President Emmanuel Macron warned against any efforts to change the Iranian regime, fearing that such actions would lead to “chaos.” Meanwhile, US lawmakers, including Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, have expressed concerns about the potential for the US to be dragged into a war, urging Trump to focus on diplomacy instead of escalating hostilities.

In response to the escalating situation, the US military has deployed additional fighter aircraft, including F-16, F-22, and F-35 jets, to the Middle East. These moves are being portrayed as defensive measures to protect US forces and allies from Iranian retaliation. The US also sent a large number of tanker aircraft to Europe, along with an aircraft carrier to the Middle East, to provide more options for Trump as tensions rise.

The US military’s actions come after Israel launched its largest air assault on Iran, claiming that Iran was on the verge of developing nuclear weapons. Iran has denied these claims, insisting that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes. With growing international concern, the future of the Middle East remains uncertain as global leaders urge caution and de-escalation.
