KARACHI: The 10-day Sindh Theatre Festival in Larkana began with the captivating performance of “Ishq Fishq: Love or Lust,” a play by Wajid Aazad addressing the pressing issue of drug addiction. The production highlighted the destructive impact of substance abuse on youth and was met with praise for its powerful acting and its socially conscious message.
Organized by the Arts Council Larkana in collaboration with the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the festival will continue daily until June 22, with performances starting at 8:30 pm. The upcoming plays include “Daywidhi” by Amjad Abro, “Kati A Konhay Doh” by Ufaq Basheer Channa, and “Thano Siyano” by Shameem Abbasi, among others.
The opening ceremony was attended by Larkana Commissioner Tahir Sangi, Chairman of the Folk Heritage Committee Dr. Ayub Shaikh, and Chairman of the Music Committee Amjad Hussain Shah, as well as local theater artists and citizens.
