KP releases over Rs80bn for development projects under ADP 2026-27

• Finance Department allocates major funding for infrastructure, health, education, irrigation and law and order across settled and merged districts

• Rs11b released under AIP and Rs7.9b under Merged Districts Development Programme to accelerate uplift and public service delivery

 PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has released more than Rs80 billion for ongoing development projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026-27, accelerating the implementation of key infrastructure and public service initiatives across the province, including the merged districts, according to official documents.

The documents show that the Finance Department has released Rs61 billion for development schemes in the settled districts, while Rs11 billion has been allocated under the Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP) for the merged districts.

In addition, Rs7.9 billion has been released under the Merged Districts Development Programme, while Rs12 billion has been earmarked for road infrastructure projects in the settled districts.

According to the official funding details, the Irrigation Department has received Rs5.8 billion, Urban Development Rs8.8 billion, Health Rs4.5 billion, Drinking Water Rs3 billion, Local Government Rs2 billion, Elementary and Secondary Education Rs1.9 billion, Higher Education Rs1.7 billion, while Rs1.7 billion has been allocated for law and order.

Under the Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP) for the merged districts, Rs2.3 billion has been released for road infrastructure projects, Rs1.6 billion for law and order, Rs1.2 billion for the health sector, Rs1 billion for elementary and secondary education, and Rs700 million for drinking water schemes.

Meanwhile, under the Merged Districts Development Programme, the government has allocated Rs1.5 billion for road infrastructure, Rs1.3 billion for law and order, Rs460 million for irrigation projects, and Rs330 million for drinking water schemes.

The latest releases are aimed at ensuring the timely execution of development projects, improving public infrastructure and strengthening the delivery of essential services across both the settled and merged districts under the province's development agenda for the current fiscal year.
