KARACHI: The Sindh College Education Department has approved a new policy allowing admissions to 11th grade in government colleges based on students’ class 9 results.
This change comes under the Sindh Electronic Centralised College Admission Programme (SECCAP), with the aim of easing the admissions process and ensuring timely placements. The department will form district-level committees and establish help centers across Sindh to support students during the process.
The approval was granted by Provincial Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah. Following this, Secretary Colleges Sindh Shahab Qamar Ansari instructed the Director General of Colleges, Dr. Naveed Rabb Siddiqi, to operationalize help centers in colleges starting June 15, 2025.
According to Dr. Siddiqi, each district or zone will have a three-member SECCAP committee. These committees will include a technical focal person familiar with the admission portal, along with members experienced in teaching or college administration.
The initiative is aimed at streamlining student guidance and reducing hurdles in the admission process for the upcoming academic session.
