ISLAMABAD: The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, emphasized the unwavering unity between Pakistan’s nation and armed forces in the face of external aggression. Addressing students from various universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he remarked that India underestimated Pakistan’s resolve, believing it could attack without retaliation. However, Pakistan stood united, with the military responding decisively to India’s provocations.
Lt Gen Chaudhry detailed Pakistan’s retaliatory actions following India’s attacks in May, including “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos,” which targeted 26 Indian military locations. He noted that Pakistan adhered to international norms, ensuring that no civilian infrastructure was targeted during the military operations.
The ISPR chief also condemned India’s role in regional terrorism, accusing it of backing attacks against Pakistan. He further criticized those who attacked innocent civilians, asserting that such terrorists do not represent the true spirit of Islam or Pashtun culture.
Chaudhry warned India against repeating such provocations, stating that Pakistan would respond more fiercely if necessary. He also addressed the situation in Afghanistan, urging the country not to harbor terrorists backed by India.
