ABBOTTABAD: A severe shortage of teachers at Government Girls High School in UC Jarral has triggered protests, with only four teachers responsible for 160 female students. The crisis led to a demonstration outside the Abbottabad Press Club, where residents demanded urgent government action.
Led by former Nazim Haji Ali Haider, ex-Councillor Abdul Kareem, and Safdar Tanoli Advocate, locals condemned the inaction of education authorities despite repeated appeals. Protesters warned they would block the Silk Route and lock the school symbolically if the matter remained unresolved.
They called on the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, education minister, commissioner, and district education officers to immediately appoint more staff. The protest highlighted fears of academic disruption and long-term harm to girls’ education in the area.
