198 nomination papers filed on first day for Islamabad’s election

ISLAMABAD: The process of submitting nomination papers for the upcoming municipal elections in Islamabad is in full swing, now entering its second day.

According to sources, a total of 6,791 candidates have obtained nomination papers for the elections across Islamabad’s 125 union councils. On the first day, 198 candidates successfully submitted their nomination papers.

The submission process will continue until August 20, with District Returning Officer DC Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon overseeing the municipal election preparations.
