Voting for Islamabad local bodies scheduled on February 15

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially announced that local government elections in Islamabad will be held on February 15, 2026. Polling will take place from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm across the capital.

The election schedule outlines key dates for the nomination process. Public notices for nomination papers will be displayed by Returning Officers on December 19, while candidates can submit their papers from December 22 to 27. Scrutiny of submitted nominations is set for December 30 to January 3, 2026.

Appeals against scrutiny decisions may be filed between January 5 and 8, with tribunals resolving these appeals from January 9 to 13. The last date to withdraw nomination papers is January 15, and the final list of candidates will be published on January 16, the same day when election symbols will be allotted.

Results for the Islamabad local government elections are scheduled to be compiled between February 16 and 19, following the conclusion of polling.

The ECP emphasized adherence to the announced schedule to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the elections, marking the next step in Islamabad’s local governance cycle.
