The Punjab government has imposed a ban on the entry of religious scholars and speakers into the province during Muharram to ensure peace and order, according to a statement by the Punjab Home Department on Saturday.
The department announced a 15-day ban on fiery speakers and religious scholars from across the country, prohibiting their stay and speeches in Punjab during this period.
According to the Home Department, approximately fifteen speakers and scholars from Sindh, including Asad Talib Johari, Amin Shahidi, Shahenshah Naqvi, and Nasir Abbas Naqvi, have been barred from entering Punjab.
Additionally, from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Mufti Kifayatullah and Khalil Ahmad Siraj, along with seven other speakers and scholars, face similar restrictions. Four speakers and scholars from Islamabad, including Maulana Abdul Aziz and Sakhawat Ali, are also prohibited from entering the province.
The Home Department further stated that one fiery speaker and scholar each from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also banned from entering Punjab.
