Amir, Abubakar move to Mid Court ATF Championships final

ISLAMABAD: Amir M. Khan Mazari and Abubakar Talha advanced to the final of Mid Court Athletes Unraveled ATF Championships 14 under Leg-1 after defeating their respective opponents in the semifinals at Pakistan Tennis Federation Complex Islamabad on Wednesday.

In the first semifinal, Amir saw off Zohaib Afzal Malik 6-3,6-3, while in the second semifinal Abubakar outwitted Samer Zaman 6-0,6-3.

In the boys’ singles fifth position match, Ali Zain defeated Hammad Kashif in a one-side affair 6-0, 6-0, while in the eight position fixture M. Hassan Usmani overcame Esa Fahd 6-1, 6-1.

In boys’ doubles first semifinal, the pair of Abubakar Talha and Zohaib Afzal Malik outclassed Esa Fahd and Moazzam Babar Khan 6-0, 6-0, whereas in the second semifinal, Amir M. Khan Mazari and Samer Zaman beat Ali Zain and M. Hassan Usmani in an epic battle 7-6(4),4-6,10-5.

Tennis ace Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi Star, who was on a visit to ACE Tennis Academy in PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad also witnessed some of the matches and interacted with the players and their parents. Aisam lauded the efforts of Zaira Ahmad Zaka, the founder of Mid Court for her concerted efforts for the promotion of tennis.
