Shehbaz invites opposition leaders to dinner on Monday

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Friday decided to host a dinner in honour of the opposition leaders in Islamabad on May 24.

Former president and Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl supremo, and Pakistan Democratic Movement President Maulana Fazlur Rehman have been invited to the dinner.

Parliamentary leaders from the Awami National Party and other parties have also been invited, INP reported.

The dinner gathering in Islamabad at 7.30 pm will discuss PDM and other political issues.

On Thursday, the PML-N president went to Charsadda to express his condolences over the death of veteran ANP leader Begum Naseem Wali Khan.

Talking about the NRO, Shehbaz questioned the logic behind this argument, saying what kind of deal could they have possibly made when they were facing jails.

Shehbaz lamented that the government had deteriorated the economy, adding that poverty and inflation had made people’s lives miserable.

He said that the government gave billions of rupees in subsidies to the sugar exporters.

Shehbaz criticised the government’s approach in handling the Covid-19 pandemic, saying that the government relied on the donated vaccines and let the situation get out of hand. He said that in terms of inoculating the population, Pakistan lagged behind even Bangladesh.
