This shows the government’s sincerity and honesty to help the deserving and curb corruption at all levels in the country. For Pakistan decreasing poverty has become a challenge which must be solved. Names of more than 800,000 ineligible have been deleted from the list of Benazir Income Support program(BISP) and over 4.4 million new names have been included in it.
It is heart wrenching to pen it down that when FIA investigated it they found that out of the total number of eligible beneficiaries, 14,730 were government employees including grade 17 to 20 officers and 127,826 were wives of government employees. This is what corruption is deep rooted in our system. Moreover, in the list there were those people who traveled abroad and were owners of cars.
Currently our country is facing a menace of Poverty due to globe pandemic Covid-19 which seized the entire world. This is a time the government and other authorities collect looted money from such criminals who are wearing the mask of officers and invest them on deserving families that they can feel ease during lockdown.
Lastly, it is not the government’s obligation, we as patriotic nations must contribute a little piece of money as zakat for deserving ones.
