The current Dalai Lama has been in service for quite a long period of time. In fact, I have been seeing him through the media right from my late 1990s college days in Tuticorin and Tiruchendur in Tamil Nadu. Having been the face of Buddhism and serenity, he has been in the news for various good reasons with the international media houses having talked much about him and having written numerous inspiring articles about him to date.

Incidentally, the forthcoming succession plan [successor to the Dalai Lama] has been a hot topic now. Added to this, the USA has now uttered some nuances in the matter of succeeding the current Dalai Lama. In numerous instances so far, the Dalai Lama has himself dwelt at length on his pending succession plan, giving some interesting ideas as well. Originating from Asian region, Buddhism preachings have been much-admired across the globe, having been acting as sources of inspiration to many Asian countries and still a magnet for the West and many westerners. In my native areas like Korkai, Tiruchendur, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, pep talks and inspiring preachings have been common among the people, sending positive vibes across the board.

Sometimes, being left alone or leaving it as such is the best way out/a way forward. One just can’t help imagining who is going to fill the saddle about to be left behind by the Dalai Lama who has been having the endurance to continue if not reaching his actual infirmity then.
