NAB Rawalpindi files 30 references, recovers over Rs644m

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has filed 30 references in the accountability courts and recovered over Rs644 million in various cases.

This was informed during a meeting of the NAB held in here on Wednesday with its Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal in the chair. The meeting was told that NAB also froze assets of worth over Rs1646 million.

It was informed that 45 accused persons in Modarba scam including Mufti Ehsan-ul-Haq and Mufti Ibrar-ul-Haq were arrested. It was further told that accountability court Islamabad awarded 14 years sentence and a fine of Rs67 million to Najam Ud Din and Ghulam Rasool Ayubi in Mudaraba case.

It was informed that the accountability court Islamabad awarded 10 years imprisonment and Rs09- billion fines to Mufti Ehsan-Ul-Haq while his nine other co-accused were imposed a fine of one billion rupees.
